That Sainz guy is pretty good. Ferrari should think about re-signing him. Oh wait. 🙄
Also: RUS binning it on the last lap in a race where SAI wins after a 9-race winning streak from VER? Looks like a pattern emerging.

At this point in time. Sainz is the only non Red Bull driver to win a race in the last two seasons.
Yet he gets minimal coverage. The Carlos Conundrum.
I legitimately think Ferrari should’ve picked Sainz over Leclerc. Leclerc is better on paper but he seems so deflated, like his heart just isn’t in the race anymore. Sainz however looks like he’s hungry for wins, he sees a chance to win and he will fight everyone (including his own pitwall) to get the win.
Fun fact : Russel crashed in all the races where Carlos won.
Guenther Steiner doing the post race interview :O
The icing on the cake of a very nice race. I’m not too sad that I didn’t get enough sleep!
Amazing race… So happy for Sainz!
It did look like Max was not as dominant this weekend, he had to work for that pole (at least it looked that way)… Too bad that with the retirement we didn’t get to see more of an actual fight
I do think Sainz just proved that getting 20 second advantage when you are first is a bit too easy (DRS for you and blue flag for any lapped cars seems to me like too much. I think just DRS would be fairer and make the races more interesting… Just my opinion)
Finally, terrible camera work… WTF did we need to see Max walking around with security TWICE after his retirement??
PS: go Yuki, points again while Ric all the way to the back… Yuki is never getting the call to Red Bull, maybe for good reason and he is a hot head, but I think it’s clear he is #1 in Visa we don’t care about the name as long as we get paid RB team

Very hard to tell, and it is unfortunate to some extent. It’s not a huge surprise for me however as Australia is a peculiar track where there usually are some teams that rather randomly perform much better or worse than expected.

I completely agree, though I’m of the opposite opinion. Blue flags are necessary imo (there is no reason a lapped car should be allowed to defend against a race leader), but the leader getting DRS off cars he’s lapping is grade-A nonsense.

Yuki took that incident in Bahrain personally! I don’t get why people keep underrating him, he beat three teammates last year and is on the path to giving Ricciardo a McLaren-level drubbing.
I never like when victories are decided by mechanical DNFs, but nothing can take away from the superb performance of Carlos Sainz. Would’ve been exciting if Max and Carlos actually fought for it throughout the race though.
Marko said in a post-race interview that Checo’s car was 2 seconds slower than Ferrari and McLaren at times. Which is not explainable and probably they had made some kind of error in set-up
At the beginning of the race Checo was complaining they got the setup wrong and had too much down force on the front tyres, so that probably.
Max is Verstappen? Bro better start going.
If Norris came in sooner with his second stop, couldn’t he have overtaken Leclerc?
It all depends on where they project him to rejoin. It’s easy for us to guess at but a lap one way or another may have been worse for him with traffic and added tire wear.
Why didn’t they red flag the Russell crash?
I think with 1 lap to go, the risk could be mitigated as people would have to pass the crash once
Also, other than the Russell v Alonso crash, all the other spots were basically set
