I admit i exaggerated it a bit. I think its more like 80k to 150k depending on where and what sort of care is needed for either mother or child. I mean if you have insurance most of this is covered and you just pay deductible etc. I don’t think you can like be garnished for it in most cases but it can affect your credit and hard.

Yeah I saw that, that’s crazy. I wonder how the collect that $2850 once you renounce your citizenship. Do they send debt collectors to the country where you have taken up residence?
