Biden at least has had empowering unions as his legacy and that is where the real base of democratic power has historically been from, it’s where most progressive policies originally spawned and where future change might be demanded. He’s setting up the future for a lot more collective action. But it remains to be seen if that’s the right call. But it’s not a bad tactical decision, it’s one for the future.

Add to that his environmental green new deal policies in the infrastructure bill, and he hasn’t been a bad president.

He has, and I’m glad for that. The stain for Biden blocking the Railroad union strike last year leaves bad taste in my mouth though.

It would have been one thing if Biden blocked the strike, but forced Railroad companies to adopt some of the basic demands (like paid sick time for goodness sake!). Instead he blocked the strike granting none of the workers demands and calls for rail safety. Yes, months later railroad workers did get a small number of sick days, but did so at other costs. The union was negotiating from a place of weakness because the railroad companies knew the union was left toothless by Biden.
