What is something you could never get tired of eating? That one dish, meal, or snack that no matter the day, you know if you had just a piece that time would stand still while you enjoyed that food for just one moment?
Care to share the recipe if it’s homemade?
Mine is bacon wrapped water chestnuts.
Take sliced bacon and wrap around whole, individual water chestnuts. Secure together with a toothpick. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and place the wrapped water chestnuts on the foil. Once you’ve made enough, cover with a unhealthy sprinkle of brown sugar and soy sauce. The “sprinkle” should be enough so some sugar and soy sauce have powdered each wrapped snack.
Broil until bacon is cooked. Watch for fire while using broil. Let them cool until warm and enjoy!

Extremely subjective, ha!
I make about two cans worth of water chestnuts. That will last me a few days, or hours if i need them to.
I love love love the minestrone recipe that my family has. I suppose it’s a nontraditional one since it has beef in it haha but it’s so good. The smell from it cooking all day is enough to drive you mad!
I’m going to go with something perhaps a little weird. Udon noodles, soy sauce as well, some veggies. I probably have it 2-3 times a week. The salty flavor really makes me brain light up. And maybe even stranger, durian. Very weird fruit. You have to make yourself eat it until you can real find the extremely unique, sweet flavors.
+1 about the noodles, I can toss in some frozen veggies and spice it up choosing whatever sauce I’d like. Dinner is ready super fast! Added chilli garlic sauce last time, delicious.
have you ever had frozen durian? i’ve always wanted to try durian but i don’t think i can get it fresh where i live. i assume it’s not really the same but i wonder if it’s worth a try

Growing up, my grandma used to just make me rice and pour some strained Greek yogurt (laban) on top. I still do that from time to time, brings back very fond memories.
Pizza. I do take out. Mostly make my own. Been without an oven though. I just got an instant pot with air fryer, gonna try that soon and try it on the grill.
Mac & cheese, tuna, and peas! It’s quick, easy, comforting, and I never get tired of it.
Made like a casserole? Sounds awesome!
Yeah, kinda! Like a stove top casserole, almost. I usually make the boxed mac & cheese according to the box’s instructions, then when that’s done, I mix in a drained can of peas and a drained can of tuna and make sure it’s mixed well and is warm all the way through. Then I add salt and pepper to taste. I’ve also done it in a microwave safe casserole dish in the microwave when I don’t feel up to babysitting something on the stove.
I bet it would be great as a more traditional casserole in a casserole dish in the oven, maybe with some potato chips crushed on top & baked until they get nice and crispy. Ooh, or maybe some tater tots? You’ve got me thinking!! :)
If it sounds good, you should definitely try it! & let me know how you like it, if ya want! :) It’s easy peasy, hard to mess up, plenty of protein and pretty well balanced compared to a lot of quick, cheap, & easy meals and comfort foods, and it’s pretty inexpensive. I’m very enthusiastic about it, lol! 😄
Probably baked potatoes with cheese and onions. Also taco bell, I would probably go there several times a week if I could.
There use to be a baked potato place down the street from us, but it got covid’d. I grill mine and smother with whatever I can find in the fridge.
For a snack/lunch/breakfast I love a peanut butter and Nutella (or fake version) toast sandwich. I eat it at least once on 99% of days.
My kiddo loves Nutella on his waffles. I’m more of a butter and syrup kind of guy. Maybe it’s generational?

Toast with Peanut butter and on top of that Indo Mi (blue) goreng noodles
Its so good but dam its so high in calories.
Poutine. Fries, gravy and cheese curds are three things I’ll enjoy forever.
I’m a sucker for a good poutine. It takes some care to make a good one though. Nothing more disappointing than soggy fry soup.
Pasta with any sauce I can rustle up, or toasted Turkish bread with butter and Vegemite.
Never tried vegemite. World market may sell some though. Any brand you might recommend?
As far as I know the only real Vegemite in Australia is made by Bega Cheese Ltd. There are other yeast extract spreads on the market which are milder and might be suitable for people trying this type of product for the first time, like Three Threes Mighty Mite.
I’m all about cake. If it is good enough, it doesn’t need icing. 🤤
I get into a tres leches craving mode occasionally. Super easy cake to make! I do homemade frosting too with heavy whipping cream and top it with fruit. Awful for you but it tastes so good.
