What’s the difference between active and hot when filtering posts/comments? They sound like the same thing.
Active (default): Calculates a rank based on the score and time of the latest comment, with decay over time Hot: Like active, but uses time when the post was published
Oh right there`s actual documentation. 😅
A tale as old as time Ü
That’s, surprisingly straightforward. It’s refreshing to use a social network where the algorithm isn’t a black box.
Just a guess but I think active sorts by how active the comment sections of a post are whereas hot seems like it ranks by recent upvotes.
Im trying to find that out also. Im sorting by new right now just to see all the post that are coming in. Sorting by new is like r/all kinda
Sorting by new you can also see all the new communities as they come and get in.
Watching the new feed like… hey look, 16 pictures of people’s dinner…
I tried new all and the furries man the furries.
I was hoping camping hunting fishing etc haha.
Saw one post it was something 10 point buck etc. Open it up Furry porn
I just block communities I have no interest in. I’m sure there will be plenty of that going forward but it’s worth the time to curate my feed a bit.
LOL
How i understand active include the comments .
I was just wondering this. My guess is that hot is some sort of middle ground between active and new.
If it was September id say RTM… :)
