Cow and rabbit eggs aren’t fictional, they’re just really small and don’t have hard shells.

Definitely don’t think about the overpopulation of deer, the spread of CWD, the fact that deer are commonly found in corn fields, the US loves corn, and the plants can take up prions from the soil.
That interspecies barrier seems like it’s the only thing between us and a huge disaster.
They respond because they have to do things like inject the genetic material into the organism once it latches on to whatever on the cell surface. That doesn’t occur in the host, it occurs in the virus.
It’s been a while since I took virology, but I feel pretty confident that something occurs in the virus due to an external stimulus.
One of the theories how organisms switched from RNA to DNA is due to viruses. Viruses have a pretty wild range of their genetic diversity. Single strand DNA, double strand DNA, positive sense single strand RNA, negative sense single strand RNA, double strand RNA. We’ve also probably got viruses as a permanent part of our genome from some ancestor species.
I think they’re pretty cool. Also, they do respond to outside stimuli, otherwise they’d be completely inert.

If you were able to answer that question, I think you would solve one of the eternal mysteries of humanity. We seem unable to escape the patterns that we keep repeating millennia after millennia.
almost all of the humans that have ever existed … exist right now
This is wildly untrue. The recent estimation of how many humans have existed is around 100 billion. Half of the total population of humans ever to exist was before the year 0, with the other half since then.
Same as it ever was

With Lyft the driver is responsible for everything, and since there’s lots of people with cars, they can just churn through them. We’re also talking local delivery here not cross country shipping.

Violence is the means used to accomplish the goal, but the motivation is what does the creating.
To be clear I’m not pro-violence or something, but it is kinda funny to me when you hear “violence is the answer” and open a history book to see time and time again that violence is the answer for quite a few problems.

This wasn’t a contracting issue, it was blowing the budget on pointless reagents to ensure the budget wasn’t decreased the following year. They just picked the most expensive reagent and bought a ton - all the same lot, all the same expiration date.
These round hay bales are actually illegal.
