  • I’ve watched enough Lock Picking Lawyer never to want a consumer ‘smart lock.’

I’m gonna differ on this. The point of a lock is to control law-abiding access to your house. If someone wants in your house, they can attack your windows, doors, or even a wall if the lock is too strong. A smart lock let’s you open the door for a family member remotely, or set one time-access for your in-laws to come over and pickup a tool.

I wouldn’t use a smart lock for something hardened, like a bunker or a vault, but for a house and garage, it’s okay not to have the most bullet proof lock in the world.

  • “Blue no matter who” doesn’t mean “vote for the second worst person”. What it means is anyone who has any shred of decency isn’t a republican anymore, and republicans cannot be allowed to win at any cost, or they will very quickly backslide civil rights and start a war in the Middle East.

I think the Dems will back Mamdani, since he’s going to win the primary. There are a lot of naysayers about the Democrats who think otherwise, it will be interesting to watch the space in the next few weeks.

Also, if the Republican pull his citizenship then I’m going to fucking riot.

  • And now they are using that free time to legislate the “big beautiful bill” and further Project 2025.

Republicans pushed forward a bullshit impeachment for Biden because he wasn’t brutal enough to immigrants. Impeaching trump for actual impeachable conduct should be the norm, even if it fails every time. We need these people on record saying they support all this unitary executive shit, because we can throw it in their faces when they bitch about the next Dem president expanding healthcare, and it eats up time that Congress would spend furthering the far-right agenda.

  • The vast majority of people know for a fact that their vote mathematically does not matter

If a full third of people stayed home, that’s a systemic problem, not an individual responsibility problem.

You understand that in a two party system, these two statements are basically incompatible?

Especially when you consider that we have early voting starting a month before the election, along with mail-in voting being available in nearly every state. If you didn’t vote, it’s because you didn’t want to vote, not because you couldn’t vote. Yes, some degree of civic participation is expected, welcome to being an adult.

Someone commented just a few days ago that voting blue in OK was pointless. I brought up some stats that if every one of the non-voters in OK had voted in the last election, Kamala could have carried the state with 200k people to spare.
