The one thing the pixels really have going for themselves is that the user can degoogle them and slap grapheneos on it. Literally the only reason I bought a pixel, everything else about it is very much average.

I use the same setup as you, opening all YouTube links in the app. I just checked again, I have the latest fdroid version which is 3 weeks old and the issue persists, also did a reinstall for good measure.

I also have the tubular fork installed from the latest apk, and it has the exact same issue.

I also tried from different locations via VPN but nothing helps :/

Not denying violence against women is an issue elsewhere too, but you would be hard pressed to find such a staggering density of sexual violence, in rather public areas, committed by groups of men for little to no provocation other than a woman being in the wrong place.

Now I am not saying all Indian men are rapists of course, but there certainly is evidence of a system wide, cultural aspect creating and enabling this behavior in a way rarely seen elsewhere.

They have a terrible issue with misogyny, there are countless stories of rape and other forms of assault on any kind of women (and girls). Indians, foreigners, none are safe, even with men accompanying them for protection. One or two guys can’t do much against a rape mob.

India is probably the first country I would warn a woman away from if she were looking for vacation destinations. Followed by islamic countries.

Depends a lot on what I am looking to buy.

I generally avoid anything with visible branding, aside from sneakers where it is largely a given and I found some nikes that work well with my feet.

I do look to buy quality/durability where possible, within budgetary reason, I try not to contribute to our mountains of garbage too much. Naturally i also avoid short fashion which will look bad next year, which is luckily pretty easy as a man.

For most other things aside from clothing I generally follow the military grade system: buy the cheapest thing meeting your needs. I generally have an initial idea what I am looking for (I basically never go on a sort of unprompted or unguided shopping spree just to buy something) and the needed properties, and I will opt for whatever does what I need the least expensive.

For food and groceries i generally buy organic store brand, though a few brand products just taste irreplaceable, so i go with those.

Seems to be chugging along just fine, they really made a gold standard game. They are even smart enough to dip into the nostalgia crowd who liked the older versions better with the classic servers. I honestly wouldnt be surprised if it were still an actively developed game in 10 years

From an ecological point, meat is too cheap as long as the general population can afford to eat it more than once or twice per week. Meat is very ineffective to produce, requiring vast amounts of water and cattle feed to be grown. It was never supposed to be a three times a day staple of every meal, and the fact that we have normalized it to that point is really unhealthy both for ourselves and the planet we are ruining to keep production going.

It starts making sense when you keep in mind that these people dont necessarily want to kill all other ethnicities, just for them to get the fuck out. I believe most subscribe to the ideal scenario of ethnostates, whom might even be friendly towards another (as long as everyone stays where they belong).

You have to remember that the left in america is not in fact left at all. Just that the political spectrum got purged of anything left of full blown capitalism during the red scare, and now “the left” is entirely the same as the right, aside from their social policies.

Both are capitalist, pro deregulated free market money loyalists who have successfully reframed the left vs right question from an economic to a social one, and are perfectly content having the peasants bicker over reproductive rights and immigration, neither of that endangers the capital.

So with this added context, the reddit population is actually predominantly liberal to progressive. Lemmy is definitely more left leaning though, for better or worse (tankies 🤧)
