It’s becoming more taboo to go after gay people so they are targeting trans. Same old conservative hate mongering because they have no mainstream policies people support.

I wasn’t saying they like gay people. It’s just like when racism became more taboo, they became less overt with their racist actions. Homosexuality is more mainstream with the population so attacking it like they attack trans people doesn’t go over as well as it did in the 80s and 90s. The right always finds an other to push their base to hate. Trans rights mainstreaming is much newer in popular culture than gay rights.

“Joe Biden’s unlawful effort to weaponize Title IX for his extremist agenda has been stopped in its tracks,” Paxton said. “Threatening to withhold education funding by forcing states to accept ‘transgender’ policies that put women in danger was plainly illegal. Texas has prevailed on behalf of the entire Nation.”

I didn’t know respecting gender identity was considered extremism. I’d call that human rights. If respecting human rights makes me an extremist, then I think judge is the one with the problem.

That ruling is so brazenly politically corrupt and factually, legally, and Constitutionally wrong that I am at a loss for words.

To be clear, this Order does not encourage the outright deprivation of any student’s rights.

Weird how you feel the need to be clear about that. Alternatively, you could simply not encourage the outright deprivation of any student’s rights.

I’d like to imagine writing such a phrase is covered with guilt, but I think we are beyond guilt.

Finally, a headline they overtly mentions who appointed the judge. So many headlines you read should actually say “trump-appointed” judge and could provide you so much immediate context.

Plot twist: it’s not a judge appointed by any of the presidents Bush.

It’s literally a judge they found in the hinterlands of South Africa where he’d been living since the 1980s, missing all news of social progress.
